THE CARBON REDUCTION COMMITMENT
Update for stakeholders

Dear Stakeholder,

In this quarterly update we would like to inform you of some important publications being released today and upcoming events on CRC.
Consultation on the Draft Order launched
The consultation on the Carbon Reduction Commitment Draft Order has been launched today. We would like to invite you to respond and submit your views. Government is committed to continue engaging with stakeholders as we did for the previous two policy consultations and look forward to receiving your views.
Please see the letter of invitation at the following link. This provides you with guidance on how to submit a response.
http://www.decc.gov.uk/en/content/cms/consultations/crc/crc.aspx
The consultation package contains three main documents: the Draft CRC Order, the accompanying Consultation and the revised Regulatory Impact Assessment. You can access these at the link above.
CRC User Guide published
We have also published a Draft CRC User Guide, which is now available on the Defra website at:
www.defra.gov.uk/carbonreduction
The User Guide aims to provide organisations that will participate in CRC with guidance on how to prepare for the scheme and the actions that participants need to undertake.
The User Guide is still a draft document that will be revised over the course of 2009 to incorporate any changes that may occur following the consultation. Should you have any feedback about how to improve the User Guide, please use the consultation response form available on the DECC website.

Kind regards,
The Carbon Reduction Commitment Team
